Providing support for fertility issues, including pre conception, natural and assisted conception
Fertility Reflexology & Assisted Conception
Fertility Reflexology focuses on both women and men who are trying to conceive. Chrissy completed her post grad training in Fertility Reflexology Parts 1 & 2 under the guidance of Barbara Scott from Seren Natural Fertility/Association of Reproductive Reflexologists. Chrissy has been trained to use specific protocols depending upon where you are in your cycle to stimulate, sedate and balance the reproductive system. Fertility reflexology often helps in regulating the length of the menstrual cycle, menstrual flow, pain relief and even bringing back periods which have been absent for some time. The key is that reflexology brings balance to the body so your body takes what it needs from the therapy helping to regulate the cycle and increase the chances of conception.
Your Fertility Journey
You may have just started to think about trying for a baby and would like to ensure your mind and body are as balanced and healthy as they can be for successful conception to take place. Or maybe you have been trying for a few months? Perhaps you’ve had some tests done with the GP. If you would like an alternative, fertility reflexology is definitely something you should really try.
Sometimes life does not go according to plan and we may need help with getting pregnant and this can be very a stressful time. Various conditions such as Polycystic Ovaries (PCOS), Endometriosis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) or fibroids can benefit greatly from reflexology as it can help stimulate and stabilise the hormonal system whilst encouraging a normal menstrual cycle.
Perhaps it was easy to conceive your first child and you’ve been waiting longer this time. This time you may be a little more sleep deprived, stressed, worried and/or busy with another child/ren at home. I strongly believe that the mind and body is very much linked and I am passionate that Reflexology brings balance to both.
Reflexology and assisted fertility treatments
Reflexology IS A SAFE complementary therapy which can also be used alongside and in preparation for assisted fertility treatments such as IVF, IUI ICSI and medicated cycles.
Stress & lifestyle and the effects on fertility
Stress has a huge impact on fertility, can disrupt hormones and makes trying for a baby more difficult. Approximately 1/3 of all fertility problems experienced are due to male fertility factors, a 1/3 from female fertility factors and the remaining 1/3 will be a mixture of issues with both the man and woman.
It is therefore important for both men and women to be at their best both physically and mentally when trying to conceive. Stressful lives, an inadequate diet, long working hours and pressure can all affect our ability to conceive. When it is taking longer than expected for you to fall pregnant, emotions may be running high. Only half of all healthy couples under the age of 35 fall pregnant within 6 months. Fertility reflexology can enhance the chances of conceiving naturally by calming, de-stressing and relaxing the body, along with regulating the menstrual cycle.
Stress is an extremely important factor when it comes to fertility and conception. It can have a profound negative effect on the reproductive system.
How does fertility reflexology work?
Reflexology provides a wonderful calming effect on the body & mind. The therapy can also be used for women who have irregular or painful cycles in general, or women experiencing other hormonal imbalances and would like the balancing effect of reflexology but not necessarily aiming to conceive.
Reflexology can be really helpful when you are trying to conceive as it
By having regular sessions reflexology provides a calming effect on the body and mind whilst providing support through your conception journey.
Consultation & Contact
Please get it touch with me with if you are interested in trying reflexology for fertility. A consultation form will be emailed to complete before your initial consultation. The 1st appointment lasts for an hour and a half, which gives us time to have a detailed consultation taking into consideration any medical diagnosis, your emotional and physical wellbeing, stress levels and any other factors that have a bearing on fertility. This will be followed by a reflexology treatment.
How often do I need to have the treatment?
I recommend a minimum of 6 treatments to see results in your cycle and boost your chance to conceive naturally. Ideally I would like to treat weekly for the first 4 treatments, so that I can work with the different times in your cycle. We would then review your situation and reduce treatments.
